12v Outlet Wiring
So I have fitted two 12v outlets in rear of my van and I have the cables ran up to the fuse board. I just need to know where is the best place to connect them to get them to work with ignition on only?

Re: 12v Outlet Wiring
Some just plug a spade into the front connection and add a fuse in-line but if you want to do it properly this might help for adding connections to the fuse box
In the fuse box upper row of big fuses is pretty much permanent live, the bottom one has few switched live ones if I remember correctly, 33,32,31,30,29,28,27,26,25 should be ignition live
Standard or Maxi power timer is the connector for the big fuses, suitable for a wire size range of 1.5 - 2.5mm2
Junior power timer is the connector for the smaller fuses, suitable for a wire size range of 0.5 - 1.0mm2
Or you can get repair wire from VW
For the larger standard fuses you'll need...
000-979-023E 0.5mm2 wire
000-979-135E 1.0mm2 wire
000-979-227E 2.5mm2 wire
000-979-306E 4.0mm2 wire
If your using the smaller mini fuses you'll need...
000-979-021E 0.5mm2 wire
000-979-133E 1.0mm2 wire
000-979-225E 2.5mm2 wire

WHat he said^^^
Glad you posted it... I can't be arsed There are a bunch of empty fuse positions. Since converting my Touran from Auto to manual, I have one that's a spare 20A feed to the passenger footwell.

Beaker2135 : Cheers for that post, I need to hardwire my Sonichi Dab unit and front/rear camera's in to the fuse box so that info will be very handy.

Handy information above. Wish I had of seen it last week but I just used a multimeter and found switched and live circuits. Dead handy

Re: 12v Outlet Wiring
I found empty fuse #28 that stands for 12-V socket 3 -U19 in storage compart, that is powered with ignition on, and 20A fuse, read on fuse diagram.
This is not the same as cigarette lighter 12 V outlet in my caddy life trunk, because is constant live.
Little confusing, mqb platform has in fuse connections 30 or fuse 15 to set on cigarette lighters outlets, from constant on(30) to ignition live(15), but caddy dont have thi options.
This #28 fuse i will use for power amplifier remote wire..
