Re: My £500 sdi
Thanks to d green for a little fitting advice.
I finally bit the bullet and got a 2nd hand injector off ebay for £40, 1 seal kit for £8.
I fitted it all with the tools in the pic
A few primes and it fired

Definitely drives smoother, still a bit of smoke but I haven’t ran it very far yet.

Re: My £500 sdi
Now the van is running perfect I’m onto my other little bits to go in!
Leisure batt (auto split charger came today)
Reverse camera, got to drill a hole in the rear badge!
It’s a wide lense so hopefully will cover quite a bit.

Re: My £500 sdi
Also forgot to mention a full bose setup from an s3 has been found, I’m sure the fronts and dash speakers will fit.
I did find some replacement kenwood door speakers but I’ll try these first

Re: My £500 sdi
Updates:
Trimmed the front parcel shelf thing in the olive green mesh.
Finished off the split charger wiring and battery located under the passenger seat.
It flew through the mot too

Re: My £500 sdi
Glad to her someone is a fishing nut like me. Be interested to see how you have done the bulkhead to fit your rods in. I was thinking of making a box out of plywood and fit in the roof space and then slide the rods in. I have taken the bulkhead out on the passenger side but as yet have not fitted the box. Thought I would get some ideas before doing it.

Re: My £500 sdi
I’ve cut the whole section out of the bulkhead and used some rubber trim off eBay for the edge.
My passenger seat goes flat so rods lay on that or fit up in the upper shelf and some small ratchet straps if I’m using full size rods and a passenger.
it will eventually be where my head goes when I sleep in it.
Didn’t intend on using it as a bivvy but handy to have the option
Trouble is I use my scope rods more now and have a Titan t1

Re: My £500 sdi
Hey man.
Love the van work so far. Not bad at all for a budget build.
I'm in the process of upgrading from my mk2 van to a newer shape. I had originally planned on a new new shape but that will take some time so sort the funds and persuade the wife, plus I'm impatient... . I came across a 2005 SDi for sale online that's pretty cheap but needs a couple of things sorted. I don't mind changing them myself. How do you find the SDi for power? Plenty, just enough or a bit underwhelming?

Re: My £500 sdi
Thanks
It will squawk the fronts if I want it to, plenty enough for round town.
Steady pace on the motorway is fine, especially with the soundproofing, I prefer it over my 56 plate passat lol
