Re: Bonnet stone guard
If you put a colour coded bonnet stone guard on isn't that just going to get stone chipped also? Or am I missing something. I know what you mean though, my bonnet has a lot of stone chip damage. Alternative is clear protective film.

Re: Bonnet stone guard
Yea I know what you mean but I like the idea of a stone guard but just not keen on it black , plus it’s cheaper to rattle can a guard than get a bonnet re-sprayed lol

Re: Bonnet stone guard
I’m thinking of doing this on my Caddy, my son has the black guard on his Caddy which is white, so the black looks nice. I’d like to colour code mine, so does anyone know what the black ones need in terms of primer/preparation please ?

Re: Bonnet stone guard
I honestly don't understand the fitting of these guards, each to there own I guess. But they look awful????
Yes, they stop stone chips, but i'd rather have stone chips that nobody can really see unless they get up close than have those awful things stuck on the front.
And do people ever take them off? if not, then why are you bothered that underneath is stone chip free? When you take them off are you not left with the marks from the bonnet guard?

Re: Bonnet stone guard
Is this something Caddy's suffer from more than any other vehicle cos its the first vehicle I've owned where every trip brings another stonechip to the bonnet?
On the protection front Frost auto restoration sell a spray on elastic covering in many colours including clear which is protective and peel off- never seen it used though but thought about to avoid 'Devon hedge rash' which we all suffer from down here.

Re: Bonnet stone guard
Caddy bonnets are stone chip magnets as well as the windscreen.

Re: Bonnet stone guard
Does anyone have any pictures of the bonnet protectors colour coded. Think they look awful in black on a white van but might look better colour coded but I doubt it.
