Re: Silver Caddy (66)
First couple of post's updated with more pics of work done.
Just been in touch with someone regarding building me a custome rock'n'roll bed. That's the next job. Once that's in I can build some units for storage and fit mini fridge.
Oh and then I'll start on rear bumper and exhaust. Before finally doing a remap.
Won't be finished there though. Just nice touches to top things off as I go along. Things like the caddy life mirrors & dash trim.

Vans looking good - I will be purchasing a very similar van to yours soon, really think silver/grey looks smart when all the work is done. Curtains are a nice addition covering up where the bulkhead was removed!

Re: Silver Caddy (66)
Been a while since I updated this.
#Anyway been a few changes since last time. Started on the rear again as I didn't like the full ply lining. So ripped that out and carpeted straight to the skin. Still sound deadened and insulated in the single skin areas with a ply board covering.
Also did the van floor and bought all the correct trims following the bulkhead removal.
Edition 30 side mouldings. Or more correctly I managed to pick up the chrome one's off a touran fairly cheap. Rubbed down and sprayed up and they look cool.
Golf GTi (Grey Tartan) front seats on touran bases
Custom rear Bumper and Exhaust. Rear wiper delete and badge changed to gloss black with backing sprayed silver.

Re: Silver Caddy (66)
How easy are the side mouldings to remove without damaging the surrounding paintwork?
Leaving the rear door spoiler also looks good rather colour coding silver

Re: Silver Caddy (66)
Fairly easy to be honest. I was slightly worried when I was faced with this originally, but was fine. I used a plastic trim remover in behind and once the first part was up I could pull that out (not too hard) as I slid the trim remover along behind. You could also spray some sticky stuff remover in to help.
I then used a rubber wheel (caramel wheel) to remove all the left over adhesive. I was left with some yellowing on the van from the wheel which I polished out before attaching the new trim.

Re: Silver Caddy (66)
Ah right, so they're just bonded on, no holes in the bodywork etc..?

Re: Silver Caddy (66)
Yeah there is holes on the van and plastic pins on the trims. You'll know when you get to them, only 3 or 4. Just work around them. If you get the edition 30 trims or ones off a touran, you'll find the rear trim pins won't line up. The front door ones are fine. 2 pins will have to be cut off. 1 still lines up at the very rear. Just be careful when fitting as it makes it tricky to get straight when sticking on.
