White cluster upgrade

Post by claudiu2s »

Hey guys. I need your help. How hard is to upgrade ABS from 1K0907379P to 1K0907379AF? will the wiring be different? do u have to replace whole ABS or u can only change controller? This is to allow for white clocks to be fitted (2008 Caddy).

If it is MK70 for MK70 you just need to replace and encode .... I recommend to replace the whole

I used that abs module when I put a set of 2014 clocks into a 2005. You also have to move a couple of wires, I’ll hunt the numbers out if you need them.

You may also need to purchase a loom in order for them to work, this goes from vans original clock loom to the new clocks.

They do need all the data transferring over but looking at your previous posts I’d assume this is something you could handle.

Mine have been in and working fine, with the exception of the oil sensor light flashing but mine does not have one at all and can’t find where you can code it out.

ABS MK60 to support white devices is the number at the end of Q ..... I changed from Mk60 to Mk60ec1 and had to remodel the connector's wiring and then encode

Thank you for your reply. Cluster is already coded to the van and fitted in. All works just beeping and red abs light shows due to wrong ABS module. The original module is indeed MK70. I have since decided to upgrade to AF module but don’t have any info on what pin needs to be swapped and where.

Usual problem with older mk70 is just speed signal, I've never seen them beeping before. Usually all will work as it should but speed will drop to zero if you drive above 40mph, then not rise again until you come to a complete stop.
There's a lot of information on the forum for this, including the link wire changes at the ABS pump. I believe Adam87 was one of the first to do this.
It's a very straight forward swap of a wire link in the plug from one position to another.

The MK70 for the MK70 does not require anything to change the wiring. I do not think so

The 1K0-907-379AF is a mk70 MABS with ASR.
This is the only mk70 which suits the caddy as all other mk70 MABS units have ESP and requires extra sensors for yaw.
The other option is to upgrade to a mk60EC1.

The white mk60 devices will go to ABS number 1K0907379Q ... but will write a J500 control error but everything works correctly
