Re: Can a modified caddy look ok without being lowered
I was never really happy with either the standard ride height or the standard 16" wheels.

Re: Can a modified caddy look ok without being lowered
The answer to your question depends on what you want from your modified Caddy?
If you want to lower your Caddy – fine, if not also fine – it’s your van.
Some owners choose to focus more on the looks of their Caddy rather than simply practicalities. Hence lowering is a favourite and increasingly common option. Coupled with stunning graphics and pristine paintwork there are plenty of Caddy’s which really shout this van is special. I think we all like the idea of driving around in an attractive vehicle, and if you live in a quiet rural area an obviously modified vehicle can be great to own. But in big cities they can also attract the wrong sort of attention. Sadly seeing your pride and joy keyed, vandalised or left as a burnt out wreck after a joy ride is something I would not wish on anyone. Sadly there are plenty of people out there who see nice things and are willing to cause damage out of spite.
If however you need ground clearance – for unpaved roads or areas with loads of big speed humps – then lowering may not be a great choice. But obviously it is not the only way to “modify” your Caddy. Some people prefer a stealth modified Caddy – looking externally like it left the factory with all the mods on the inside – nice head unit, crazy sound system, leather heated seats, multi function steering wheel controls and a decent power remap which if needed can leave the irritating lad in his tarted up Nova for dead.
Your money - your choice.
Oh and don’t forget, the more mods you add the bigger your insurance premiums are likely to be.

Can a modified caddy look ok without being lowered
Just trying to understand the cons of lowering and the driving experience of a lowered caddy that’s not being heavily loaded with goods.
If the van is lowered how much worse is it to drive over speed humps or bad roads versus say a sports car wherein you are always cautious?

Re: Can a modified caddy look ok without being lowered
I dont think I'd want to lower it with all the speed bumps and pot holes in the road and farm tracks I go down, especially as im using it as a work van. Been there done that in an old civic of mine. the novelty wore off after a year or so.. Looked good tho..

Re: Can a modified caddy look ok without being lowered
I’m hoping to get the “ look “ without lowering, had a T5.1 and went the whole hog, lowered with 20s, killed the ride and eventually sold it, looked killer but spoilt the drive on anything other than motorway

Re: Can a modified caddy look ok without being lowered
Going on the pics and advice I’ve bought some 16” wolf-race assassins , so not super low profile tyres, hoping they look ok when I get them on, will post pics later

Re: Can a modified caddy look ok without being lowered
New member here I’ve recently bought some 18” 2018:19 Toyota CH-R wheels and bought some suv’ sizes tyres so I went for 215/50/18 Michelin’s primacy 3’s and got them on and wasn’t 100% sure but they’ve grown on me now, pictures don’t really do justice

Re: Can a modified caddy look ok without being lowered
It all depends on the look you're trying to achieve. Wheel tyre combo needs to be well thought out if you're not going for lows

@ViralEye / @R10LOC
They're 18" replicas of VW Brescia, originals are sometimes seen on Golf GTi Clubsport and other vehicles. Size is 18" ET45 / 7.5J, PCD 5x112. To retain rolling radius from OEM 16" wheels, tyres are Toyo Proxes T1-R 225/40ZR18 92Y.
