Don’t get me wrong there’s times were it works but most of the time I feel the van is in the wrong gear

Iv'e never been a fan of auto boxes with less than a 3.0l engine I think that they work great with engines with a fair bit of torque, but with smaller engines and with less torque I guess that they are up and down the box trying to find the right gear...... 🤣 Many thanks for your insight, and I think I will stick with a manual. 👍🏻

Done close to a 1k miles over the lat two weekends - fishing and a trip to Cornwall ... DSG box is OK ... but its lease so I will have to live with it :l

Planning on soundproofing \ carpeting and cutting the bulkhead this weekend :)

So back from the stealers yesterday with a set of cross bars and the bumper fixed ... incorrectly fitted out of the factory but not a warranty cover as I had signed it off the back of the lorry without spotting it :( cba arguing about 90 quid - got a free clean!

The majority of my carpet and soundproofing arrived yesterday so that's the weekend job - pics to follow in the sun!

So I stripped the van, got the panels and ply out and did the 2mm sound mats and 12mm insulation after it - hot sweaty work this weekend!

Re: the DSG

Fit the paddle shift steering wheel, makes the DSG almost tolerable. ImageImage

So spent another sweaty weekend working on the van - GTE seat covers and carpeting the rear! TBH if you can get the rear done for £650 get it done :D ... I reckon I spent £300 on materials and the amount of back and knee ache, fiddling and its not 100% perfect - good learning curve though!
