Vw caddy interior LED lights wiring query

Post by Gedi130596 »

Hello
Im new to this forum and for some reason i cant access the technical section, ive just purchased some LED lights off ebay which have a touch to turn on system. I have removed the original 3 way light and wired in the LED’s with the red and blue. They come on when opening the doors and go off after around 2/3mins and turn off when the doors are shut, i’d like the option for them to stay on permanently when the doors are shut for if we are camping in the back. Would i need to fit a 3 way switch or is their some way i can make it work without a switch?
Thanks

I’d like to know the answer too actually. It’s really annoying that mine turn themselves off after a few minutes.

Yeah it is isn't it, ive found a trick to make the lights stay on when all doors are shut. If you shut one of the doors onto first latch the lights will stay on permanently and you can still lock the van if your inside. Would be better to find a way to wire it in to work properly though.
