Bit of a water leak.

Post by the swan fiend »

Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone can throw any light on this. There’s a little pool of water under the van. I’ve had the A/C on today and this has happened once before. (though I can’t remember if I used the A/C on that occasion) I’ve monitored the water level in the header tank and the level isn’t dropping.
I know A/C produces condensation, does that sound like a likely cause?
Thanks lads

If you've had the A/C on there is probably moisture condensing on the evaporator which should drain via a pipe to the exhaust tunnel just below the dash.
Sometimes the Evaporator can form ice and this only melts after you park up this dropping a fair amount of water onto the ground.

High chance it is the AC, mine puts out quite a bit of water on the driveway from it.

Having kept an eye on the header tank level over the last few days, it has remained constant. I’ve done a 160 mile drive in that time, so all looks well. Thanks gents
