my first update after searching a lot of scrap yards for a bargain, i started by getting an arm rest from a touran hacked it to pieces and it eventually went in. Then after a lot a lot of searching and checking the net near every day some 2002 A3 sport seats which thanks to colm1988 i have fitted no problems. Anyway here is the interior as is stands for moment (arm rest now looks to grey up to the seats may have to try dye it) Oh and i bastardised the A3 height adjust handle on, not the prettiest job but better than that huge thing they insist on putting on



rear interior lighting and audio is next, a local search on the bay came up with a treat the other day

you can get diffrent covers for the touran arm rest diffrent colours + diffrent colour stitch if wanted.

ooooooooo! where from? stealers? i have seen just arm rest tops on ebay so could just stick one on i guess

been doing a little work on the van slowly but surely but nothing exciting/visible so now i have done a few things thought i would update.

First thing, upgrade those awfull stock shocks on the rear to some KW V2s, lovely ride now. So much better, don't bottom out and i can even take the little weight i need to with out worrying


Then i thought i would do a bit of sound proofing using the popular flashing band, just on the wheel arches as that is where a read the main problem lies, not got the ply back on yet so not sure on the difference and i am planning to put some carpet underlay on as someone else on here has done.


after doing these mods and even though them being all good i felt i needed some "unnecessary" ones where needed. So i thought well nothing looks better than a clean van so popped out and got a clay kit and was amazed with what dirt came off giving it than extra white shine, then some wash and wax. Not happy with just that i thought the bumper just rounded off to the floor so wanted to give it an edge so the cupra splitter was a nice little touch to add the existing bumper as a nice budget mod.

after that waffle thought i would take a quick few photos

just read my last update i also forgot i put a sub in, just behind the bulkhead with the amp under the passenger seat. Also put some LEDs in the back and one in the front, mainly so i could see what i was getting out the van. Little photo to show the improvement even though the van was a sh!t hole that day. You can just make out the sub too

thanks, changing seats makes such a difference and for under £50 it was a bargain

well you need to pull the new and standerd seats apart, you use the caddy base (frame metal work) and put just the foam seat from the a3 seat on and clip in. Then just bolt the a3 back to the caddy base
will also work with golf mk4 and passat b5 seats and probably pre 04 model a4 seats too

Love the arm rest mod... how much did you have to chop away? still fold up etc?

just a little from the back bottom corner, does still fold up but not all the way. As i got mine from a scrappy i didnt get the boxs inside but i put a metal plate and foam inside and that is where my ipod sits that is connected to the head unit
