LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
Hi All,
After finding my iphone fits between top of tyre and rear wheelarch, i did some searching online for lowering options.
All of the options i found said not suitable for Maxi version, can anyone point me in the right direction? I use it for work so don't want it slammed, neither do i want it to be really stiff. I accept that the ride will most likely be affected with any lowering but comfort and usability is a priority for me.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
I had this issue too. I’ve got a ex BG maxi so had a serious wheel arch gap!
The kit I bought, the ST kit by KW was the same for the maxi or SWB. I believe this is the case with other brands of kit too.
The variables you need to take into consideration are your strut diameter (either 50 or 55mm) and weather you have comfort leafs on the rear. The comfort leaf is a double spring, the standard is a single. From what I gathered, if you have double leafs, you need to swap for single ones.
Hope this helps mate

Re: LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
Thank you Mr Fiend, searches the ST brand and I’ve found a lowering spring kit for around £300, and one with shocks for around £700, which did you go for and do you use for work?
Cheers

Ignore that, shocks were wrong vehicle, I’m guessing it’s the lowering spring and Alex flip kit?

I went for the kit with coilovers upfront and shackles/shorter shocks on rear. If you just fit springs, you put extra load on the standard shocks and they’re likely to blow.
I only use my van for putting camping gear it mainly, if you’re carrying heavy loads, near in mind the load capacity will be reduced if it’s lowered.

Re: LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
I've been looking at kits to do the same to my 2012 Maxi, this kit from MTS Technik popped up. Not sure if anyone's had any experience with them but looks like everything you'd need.

Re: LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
I’ve never heard of them mentioned on the forum before. It’s definitely the full kit though. What’s the price on this?

Re: LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
I found a few sets on eBay, £450 plus postage, according to the blurb the springs are manufactured by Eibach...

Re: LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
They seem reasonable. Might be worth checking around on other websites and seeing if you can find any reviews.

Re: LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
We have sold and fitted a few MTS coilovers in the past. And customers have been happy so far. Springs are indeed eibach! For the caddy's we mostly sell the ST coilovers. But i would give the MTS kit a go

Re: LOWERING A CADDY MAXI
I think I might have go with the MTS kit myself. Looks to be good quality and well designed from the information I can find and with a 2 year warranty with no mileage limit as well. Eibach springs on top worth a punt in my eyes.
