Short drop links after lowering?

Post by ConorMcNay »

I've been on most of the day trying to lower my caddy after snapped bolts, cross threaded bolts and a lot of swearing I managed to do the fronts. Do I have to use shorter drop links on the front if so what kind do people use, my coilovers are stance plus one and the as low as they will go.

I’ve got the same kit and needed lower links. I got ‘roadnutz’ ones from their website, not eBay, and it is perfect now. When setting em up, have a look on YouTube for a bloke who shows how to set them up ‘neutrally’.
It really made a difference and mine handles superbly now! I’m impressed!

Thanks for the reply, I have put normal length drop links on and they seem fine at the moment I will have to see how they go. Image

There are none....you need shorter shocks though.
I've got the full stance kit which has everything you need. Its a cheap kit, but after a bit of messing around setting it up, I think its excellent, and way better than the price suggests.
My reasoning was that with a two year guarantee , id be able to get four or five sets, so 8-10 years before I made the price up of one of the bigger Boys £1000 kits.....if they were pants, it would be wasted dosh, but they're not, IMHO 👍

Did you have the weight of the van on them when you tightened everything up?
You need to, as otherwise the rubber bushings don’t sit right, apparently.
I made that mistake first, so had to pop it on some scaffold board, to lift the back, slackened it all off (top of shock, bottom of shock, front and rear of leaf springs)then ran it forward and back, then got in the back and jumped around a bit, then back onto the blocks to tighten everything correctly.
I didn’t have a clonk from the rear though, mine was a creak. Hope this helps👍
