Dash lights

Post by Yourfiend »

Can anyone tell me if I should have lights on my dash that warns if you've left the door open? I'm trying to solve an electrical problem and I'm not sure if this is an issue or if it just doesnt have this feature. New van and first time caddy owner, although I've been vw for life.

There "should" be a red symbol on the instrument cluster to show a door open.
Failing that the interior light set to the door position is a good indication.
Your 2010 will bring on all interior lights with any door open.

My interior light stays on constant in the intermittent/door open setting, but I have no light on the dash to say a door is open.l I've just replied to you in a separate thread I've made, I'm also having issues with my rear sliding doors.
Cheers,
Dan

Old thread but I'm having the same problem. No icon on the dash when any door is open. But interior lights work as they should. On/off when door is open/closed?
Did you get a fix for this ?

Try the door switch where the doors open

The car knows the doors are open because the interior lights come on when any door is opened. Should I be getting a warning light on the dash ?

My 2010,1.9 pre-facelift basic spec van didn’t have any indication that the doors were open other than the interior lights coming on. I only got indication on the dash after upgrading to my premium instrument cluster.
