Foam mattress options

Post by Djr86 »

I'm putting in a cnc'd box bed into my caddy life. I'd like as big of a mattress as possible but because of the life trim it the section near the rear door will need to be 115cm whilst there is 125 width the other end. Thoughts on the best mattress solution? My thought is to get one of these and cut the foam in one section .https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fun-ture-Port ... ast_sto_dp any one have a better idea?

I did this, foam is 120mm, could have been half the thickness as it is quite firm, and that would have saved some packing space. The mattress is standard length and standard 3/4 bed width so can use off-the-shelf fitted sheets.

That's a really nice job you've done there!

Thanks! I camp a lot so it gets a lot of use.

I also built this for longer trips (replaces the rear seats):

You'll also need to deal with ventilation somehow, I got these (from Germany):

And keep the heat/light out:

I've subsequently made better window covers, but don't have pictures of them yet.
