Hi mate, was wondering if you still knew the part numbers for the black visors? Ace build too btw, definitely my favourite caddy

@stickertone the belts were done by Mid England retrims, if I remember right they were around the £100 mark (I think) but your best off asking them.

@68caddyharry I don’t think black sun visors are an option for Caddys mate. My sun visors have been trimmed in suede, I have also previously painted them using Upol PLastX, which I was very happy with. The only reason I changed again was because of the amount of suede in my van as they wouldn’t have looked right painted.

Hi there,
Such a nice van!
What lights did you use for the B pillars? I'd like to do the same in my van but can't find the part I need on Ekta as I can't find Caddy life models...… I guess they are just generic lights but which ones???? Any help appreciated. Many thanks!

@Cailsey thanks for the comment, the ones that I have used are from an Audi A8 door. I got the full door light looms from a breakers as they also came with the handle lights.

Pat, ha ha worse still they smuggle chocolate in....

Thanks for that. Gives me a starting point. I don’t really have any breakers near me unfortunately.
May I ask where you took the power feed from for the B pillar lights?
I assume they are configured to come on when a door is opened as you have a separate switch for the roof lights. I’ve been trying to work it out from your photos as I too prefer not to hack into the existing loom. I would rather tap in at an existing plug. I guess it could be taken from the sliding door contacts?
So much to do to the van and it all takes time. I’m trying to get everything under the skin done so I don’t have to remove all of the trim again........
Thanks again for your build thread. It’s really inspiring, as are many others, but it’s also a great reference point with all of the photos. Staggeringly quick progress too and most of it DIY.

Hi mate no problem. I also fit a Passat W8 interior light while I was doing the inside, so as these need an adapter loom I added the feeds to this. They come on when the van is unlocked or a door is opened.
Yeah with the exception of the seat trimming and painting everything has been done by myself. I’ve only ever once had someone else work on one of my previous vehicles and I’ll be honest it wasn’t a good experience.

Finally got the door panels refit today, they have been off since before Christmas as I decided to install puddle lights into the mirrors while the doors were stripped. Obviously I had to trim some more plastic in suede at the same time. ImageImage

Fitted the Whiteline 24mm rear antiroll bar today, which is the last job from my original list of things to do over the Christmas break (although I now have a new rear headlining to make, but I think that will wait).
Took advantage of my mates lift being free which made a nice change from rolling around on the tarmac.
I think I’m going to have to start saving for a stainless exhaust now Image.
Also gave the van a much needed wash, which embarrassingly is the first time I’ve properly washed it in about 12 week.
