The motor is regenerating keep driving a couple of km so the regeneration is completed to keep your particle filter clean.
Or if you have an auxillary parkingheater the idle goes up to 1000rpm but what i can understand there is not so many Caddys that have aux heater in GB so it's most likely regenerating.
And if it only happens when the motor is up to temperature it's the regen.

AFAIK , you need to get the 'rollback' done first.....some people say different ,but I did it this way....then the remap ;)

As stedlocks says get the roll back first which puts the caddy back to a pre update tune , then a map , the mapper may be able to do the roll back it all depends what system he has , my roll back was done bye the mapper and it’s transformed my van , thanks to Mat at dub unit Tamworth 👍

That’s great I’ll ask map guy if that’s possible
Checked on the vw web site van has had
This recall done so that’s the issue
Definitely thanks for the information team

How long does it do this for?
Is there any damage done if you don’t keep driving the few extra Km’s? I had to be in work had to turn the engine off and couldn’t keep it running.

There's no damage done. It will start regenerating the DPF on your next driver. Unless you do only very short trips it won't be an issue. If it fails to regenerate repeatedly you'll eventually get a light on your dash and you'll need to do a longer motorway drive.

I think the regeneration time is set at around 10 minutes on the CAY engines (mine certainly is) and this seems to be regardless of road speed. If conditions are favourable, it may not take the full 10 minutes to burn all the soot off anyway.

It won't do it any harm to switch it off mid-regen, but if you do repeated short runs and never allow allow it the required time to burn the soot off, the soot will accumulate faster than it burns off and the DPF light will eventually come on. Also, it takes a fair amount of energy to get it up to the 700 odd centigrade it needs to burn off, so if it has to keep reheating it you'll end up using more fuel too.

Hope this puts your mind at rest anyway :)

Whoops, sorry - took a break between starting my message and finishing it and you'd replied by then! Totally agree.
