Locking wheel nut key

Post by Stevemaxi »

Hi, I have just tried to get a replacement locking wheel nut key from vw. My caddy apparently doesn't have oem item fitted anymore and someone has put mcgard brand on.
Is it best to just bin them and replace with vw ones or any recommendations from you guys?
I am currently running with a can of instant repair just on case :?

I’d bin them, probably cheaper to buy a new set than get a key
VW do a set of accessory locking nuts for about £25 ZGB-1J0-071-591-A
as opposed to £80 for the regular ones as far as I know they are just the same apart from the part number
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is

Nothing wrong with the McGard brand, they’re well regarded.

The VW splined ones are childs play to remove, would rather mcguard ones but a pain to match a new key if you lost your

I'll try and contact mcgard to get a replacement and go from there.

I lost my mcgard locking nut. I rang them and they asked me to send over a clear picture and they matched it. I run a set of vw and mcgard ones now. Lol

Hi, if you take the part number quoted by Beaker2135 into a VW dealer or TPS they will be able to supply them.
