Caddy Maxi (the chicken van)
Recently purchased a Maxi. I gambled and bought the cheapest I could find. I have a limited budget & will be doing what I can to keep cost down.

Re: Caddy Maxi (the chicken van)
Inside was a mess . I am not sure it had ever been cleaned. Clearly owned by a plasterer for a while everything is coated in plaster dust. Ply was in bad shape & smelt like chicken poo so had to be ripped out immediately.

Foil backed high density foam. Found a eBay deal .
Bonded wood batten on to secure ply inset panel.

Caddy Maxi (the chicken van)
Love a bit of camo and it’s really cheap & hard wearing.

Re: Caddy Maxi (the chicken van)
I decided to carpet straight to metal work as it was cheaper & I prefer the look. It was however more difficult to get a good finish than I anticipated.

Recycled bottle insulation stuffed in wherever I could fit it. More camo for the factory ply.
I used the old full height ply to make the inset panels.

That's a good start! What other plans do you have for the van?
Good luck!

Re: Caddy Maxi (the chicken van)
Thank you. Working on the floor at the moment, will have a removable bike rack. Need to figure out some storage. Collecting some bits for electrics slowly too.

Re: Caddy Maxi (the chicken van)
I notice this is a year ago... but how did you secure the inset panels to the battens? Screws hidden by the carpet?
Do you know what thickness the battens were?
Thanks
Jason
