Caddy front splitter

Post by 4oz »

Hi,

Has anyone fitted this front lower splitter to a MK 4 and is it straight forwards fit?

I fitted one, yeh easy enough to fit, I did it on my mates ramp, wouldn't fancy doing it rolling about on the floor.....đź‘Ť

Okay thanks, I will probably have to roll around on the floor!
Does the splitter just fit in to holes already in the caddy or do I have to drill new ones?

You drill the holes in the bumper and splitter. It’s easier to take the bumper off than do it on the van.

Got a TRC splitter on my mk4, and got the place that did the lowering job to fit it while on the ramp - as I recall it was just 3 bolts and it’s been solid for over a year now.

I took my bumper off turned it upsidedown, taped it in place and drilled through the existing spitter holes into the bumper and just bolt it on

What’s involved to remove front bumper mate? Is it difficult?

I was quite daunted by it at first aswel but honestly it's so easy, just undo the screws around the front of the wheel arches, two tricky ones right at the top (which I never put back lol) then there's about 4 or 5 screws under the front of the bumper, under 20 screws I'd say then it just lifts off.
First bumper I'd ever taken off in my life ,I had it off, splitter bolted on and put back on the van in about an hour.
