Caddy Maxi Kombi - Camper Project
Hi All,
Our Caddy Maxi Kombi! Ready to get to work on kitting this out as a basic camper while keeping it useable as a daily driver.
We've done a bit of sound deadening and removed the ceiling panels ready to add some insulation this weekend.
Cheers,
Sam

Insulation Day!
Recycled bottle loft insulation in the cavities, large panels and roof. Some closed cell foam on remaining exposed metal.
Started on the vapour barrier with some reflective bubble wrap but ran out of daylight.

Re: 2016 Caddy Maxi Kombi - Camper Project
My partner did it!
Seems that you can be pretty rough with it as its so stretchy. Don't be afraid to pull off and re-stick while the adhesive is still tacky. Oh, and don't get spray adhesive on any of the carpet you've already fitted......

Side panels cut and ready to fix, just going to treat them with some Osmo oil first.
Also went and collected this bed frame from vanfurniture.co.uk. It's a sliding bed frame that can be used with the rear folded seats to make the sleeping platform.

Using the spare time at the moment to get some more done......
Side ply panels fitted and finished the sliding bed from vanfurniture.co.uk after giving it a coat of clear satin Osmo oil.

Made up a folding kitchen/coffee shelf that attached to the back of the bed. It uses some self supporting table hinges and the fold out arm for support.
Held in place with a Voile strap.
Testing!

That's a neat table idea on the end of the bed!

Cheers @GreyLife !
Next up we made these storage net alternatives, which will hopefully be a bit more hard wearing. An idea we borrowed from 'The Rolling Home' who are selling them for £50 a piece.....

Been loving watching this van come along both on here and on Instagram, you're doing a great job!
I'm heading in the same direction as you, all be it a bit behind. Love the OS map on the roof, Lochaber i think? How did you get it to stick?
Also loving these storage nets, I saw the ones on the rolling home and thought the £50 asking price was a bit steep, good to know you can make your own with a bit of ingenuity.
Keep the updates coming and apologies in advance for using your build as a bit of inspiration on my own.

Cheers @MaxiQ ! Who are you on Instagram?
The OS maps are some old Tour maps of the Lake District and Dartmoor. Stuck on with spray adhesive and finished with a clear matt lacquer but they haven't lasted too well! The maps were a bit old and torn before we started......maybe trying to cover them with some kind of film would be a better option?
Re storage nets, if you've got the tools/materials to hand, its a nice little project.
