Wrapping Dash
Morning,
I picked up my 2012 maxi on Sunday evening, love it so far. One thing I'm not keen on though is the dash. Big grey and plastic. Has anybody wrapped, painted or generally changed theirs at all? Looking for some inspiration and general advice on the best way to tackle it. Cheers lads and ladies.

Re: Wrapping Dash
If you’re really bothered by it rip it out and whack a Touran dash in.

Re: Wrapping Dash
I kept the caddy dash but retro fitted Audi TT vents into it. Cheap to do if you find a set down a scrappy

Re: Wrapping Dash
Touran dash is definitely much less commercial vehicle and more car like and its relatively simple job too. Other option might be to have the caddy dash wrapped in leather/alcantara but reckon you'll pay as much as the Touran conversion for that! Check out my build thread to see mine wrapped in alcantara, and Bigharty's thread for tan leather.

Re: Wrapping Dash
As dan says the touran dash has a much nicer look and feel to it, I’ve got one in mine and to me it finishes it nicely.
It took me about half a day to strip the caddy one out and refit the touran dash (there are a ton of little screws that seem to be hidden everywhere). You can pick one up from £50+, scour eBay, gumtree or even breakers for the best price. If you do go down this route you will also need the vent trims for under the dad and the brackets that they bolt into.

Hi Dan, got a link to your alcantara dash? Like the sound of that. U do it yourself?dan@biali wrote:Touran dash is definitely much less commercial vehicle and more car like and its relatively simple job too. Re: Wrapping Dash
I believe up to a 2015 but if I’m wrong I’m sure someone will advise.
From what I can see they changed on the 2016 to a black colour as apprised to the anthracite and the general shape around the clocks
Up to 2015
2016 onwards

Re: Wrapping Dash
@dan@biali that is one amazing dash, I’d totally forgot how it looks and at some point today I’m going to have another read of your build just to remind myself

Re: Wrapping Dash
Cheers. Lot of work went into it that few people even notice! Both top trays were filled and smoothed, the centre console was reprofiled to fit the Touran glovebox, I modified a TT hazard switch and bezel, but the most work was in building custom pods for the Audi S3 air vents to fit into so they flowed into the dash properly and the vents worked (Audi ones are a bit short and don't connect to the Caddy outlet).

Re: Wrapping Dash
Dash looks absolutely Awesome. Must have taken weeks to do. Well worth it though, i've not seen anything nicer in a Caddy!!
