Still not able to post on the other pages so hope its ok to post on this one.
My bonnet release has stopped working. Took the plastics off inside and all looks fine in there so its obv something nearer the bonnet. Is this a common fault and is there a way that i can fix it asap as I need to top up with adblue asap...
Thanks in advance.

Re: Bonnet release not working
Bonnet cable is not one single cable should split in half just past the headlight, maybe loose from there or else maybe cables fraid along the line somewhere.

Re: Bonnet release not working
There is a coupling point in your engine bay that sometimes fails. Or the release/catch itself maybe the cause.
Either way, if the inside looks good, confirm it by pulling the cable with a tool and see if it works, if it doesn’t, it’s inside the engine bay, if it does, the handle inside is the problem.

Bonnet release not working
Hi mate. As said, the coupling in the engine bay is known to come apart. I think people end up removing the wheelarch liner and getting to the cable that way. When you sort it, put a few cable ties around your coupling like in the picture below.

Thanks for the replies, I did take the wheel arch but couldn’t locate where the coupling bit is.
I can’t access that post so can’t see the topic on how you did it.

Bonnet release not working
Okay, mine looks totally different...
So, I’m assuming I don’t need to cable tie it?

Looks like a 2004-2010 style?
If so, you should be ok without reinforcement.
