Rear seats

Post by Ryzar1 »

Hi guys I just got a bench seat from a 2018 caddy life tread line it was the 3rd row however I want to use them as a back seat that can be folded forward so I can put most of my equipment for work in still just wondering if anyone knows exactly what is needed to install them I know I need seat belts which I have sourced already I just need to know what happens to the floor by the looks of it I need some slight rails welded so the seat can lock in any help would be appreciated

You need the rails and the two pairs of different size head mushroom bolts in order to slot the seat in then the bolts go through the floor.
I fitted mine with threaded rivets and then some spreader plates underneath.

No worries.... what plans do you have with the seat belts because you will struggle mounting the third row one's ..

I’m not sure I was going to try and install the 2nd row ones or there’s a kit you can buy that fix to the floor

Not seen the floor kits.... I ended up fitting retractable lap belts with reinforced tubing from a 4x4 centre to the seat because the seat sits to far back to mount the second row one's...
but I don't use it that much but still handy to have

Hey mate I got the fixing for the floor and the seat belts now but I don’t have any holes on the floor in the back do the plates have to be riveted or something these are the rails for the floor also the right hand side there’s no fixing holes to mount the seat belt like the left hand side

There are no holes in floor..
plan where you want the seat then you drill the holes but double check underneath and watch the fuel tank. thread rivet the holes bolt the rails to the floor, adjust and line the rails up so the seat click in and out place then tighten the bolts and add the spreader plates and nut underneath.

Can't help with the seat belts because I don't thing they will work as you can see the seat sits to far back on mine. Fitted mine so I could still get get a MTB either side of seat.

Don’t suppose you know or have a rough diagram of where exactly the petrol tank is so I don’t puncture it

Nah don't have a diagram but it's on the passenger side...
just drill a small pilot hole with a drill stopper then measure the depth that you need to go before you use the larger drill bit
or stick a bit of metal plate on top the tank where you are going to drill.
