Re: Caddy 4 wheel drive build
So with it now at work I can get it finish off so next was the prop shaft the standed rs3 one was too short so I've had to measure up how long I need it extended also needed to make a braket for the centre bearing.i found that the propshaft was running little too close for me to the tunnel at the rear so made up some spices and had them all sent off for powder coating once done regarding the propshaft needed extending 33 cm sent it off and afew weeks later got it back retubed to the right size so got it bolted up it's now officially 4-wheel drive

Re: Caddy 4 wheel drive build
So alot of my front end bits have started turning up when I did a quick check I found I could adjust the front camber enough so only option was adjustable top mounts had to modify my turret tops just for easier access but turned out good had to get some shims made for the top mounts to fit in the the coilover tops also got some superpro lower ball joints and I just double drop links all on now read for setting up once my rear coil overs turn up

Serious build! Hats off to you!
How comes you made lower arms as opposed to using standards?

Re: Caddy 4 wheel drive build
Thanks mate so dont no if I put it in but I didnt go down the custom arm root in the end as they just kept bending so whent back to the drawing board and did some measurements and found mk 7 golf rear arms fitted this is because I am running combined spring and damper where the standard would just be separate spring and damper so relocated mine to the lower arm and have had Gaz coilovers build me a set for the van still waiting for them to turn up though but I'll post up some photos of the lower Arms nowB3NNB wrote: Wicked thanks mate.

I love this build and some very good work. It’s giving me some very expensive ideas though.

Re: Caddy 4 wheel drive build
Amazing built !
One question : Could it be an option to use a T4 4-motion rear axle ( the subframe, springs, arms and so on) for such a modification ? the T4 has a minbklock suspension at the rear, so you have not to modify the interieur. The dampers are also short ones. Is that or could that also a possible option for a 4wd-built ?

Re: Caddy 4 wheel drive build
Hi mate the t4 is much wider so no. the only reason I have suspension turrets is that I have modified the suspension so I have a spring and damper set up all in one but that was my choice it can be done the other way Plus I think I'm going to running a roll cage too so works out better for me with thatUltrakurz wrote:Amazing built !
