Some let you strip parts, others have them on the shelf ready, others need calling first and they remove the parts
Ahh thankyou,if you strip the parts yourself do you just get a price at the till?

It depends on the scrap yard
Most don’t have a till, cash in hand.
Need to check, they are all different

Hi dudes,
Sorry, phones been all smashed up and only just got a replacement.
I worked in a scrappy with my dad since I was 13/14 until I was 17, I am 19 now, so I know the guys quite well, - which is why I can get bits quite cheap.

Generally speaking most scrap yards won’t let customers in due to health and safety, only a few will let people in to pick and pull.

@papa bear - I used a soft brush and interior cleaner to wipe it down - let it dry then went to town with the dye. - will need a good few coats of dye as I’m still not happy with the finish on mine.

@ry_vw, very handy, they’re only next door to me. :)

Not sure if I’ve posted this yet, but popped on a flush wiper delete and whilst I was there I made a little handle to open the barn doors up from the inside

I've said this to Pete (swanfiend) but its funny when you look at page one of older build threads.....they all start with 'this is a slow project, I won't be going mental etc....'

Then something lovely pops out!

Yes hahaha, only planned on tidying it up. But ended up attacking everything. Might need to change the thread name at some point
