Lovely caddy you've created. It was very impressive when I spoke to you at Trax but the new bits take it to another level. Absolutely love the new headlights.

Boom!

Bar raised! ;)

So, that is a complete Gti bumper, as well as the lights, obvs, without any traditional plastic welding of the caddy/golf bumper?
Bloody top work!

No, he has put the internals of the mk7 headlights inside Caddy/Touran headlights.
The bumper is still a custom plastic welded jobby.

Thanks Hef, that very nice of you mate. It’s been some graft as is always the way the last 10% takes 90% of the time. Just hoping we get some shows this year so I can actually show it off. Nearly all built up and knowhere to go Image

So yes as Doc said. They are a set of touran headlights internals removed. Set of golf DRL units, that I then took apart and rebuilt with RGB strips.

I then installed 2 x D2s projectors in each headlight housing then rebuilt the DRL into the housing.

So the DRL functions as it should and indicates like the golf would, but with the added bonus of being able to change it to any colour from the App

Then had to rebuild the housings to accommodate the DRL

And the bumper is a caddy mk7.5 hybrid but I’ve plastic welded a mk7 gti grill in and created a swage line below it

Hope that makes sense Image

So, barely any changes from stock at all....!

Thats why I love these vans......when I was really into aircooled stuff back in the 80's, people were constantly trying new things, taking inspiration from the hotrodding scene, like frenching in lights, louvres, solenoid doors etc..... At the time, ground breaking stuff that hadn't been seen before.
Same rules apply here, only using more modern, up to date tech.

Like I say....really Good work, and now officially one of my favourite vans!

Plus.... I love a pure grey! It was Heff's, closely followed by Barbell's, that made me want pure grey or Blackberry.....!
