Hi all,
Sorry to bump start this but I've no access just yet.....and my caddy came without an engine cover a 2012 1.6tdi.....it bugs me that it is incomplete under the hood.
Also is there meant to be an under tray beneath the engine ??
I did an oil change and thought that there should be....

Thanks

Undertray is never from factory under the caddy van. If it’s there a previous owner has placed one. If there isn’t one you can add one yourself.

That's gone up a bit, I think I paid under £14 all in with VAT 18 months ago...

All Caddys in South Africa come with undertray from factory. Mine certainly did (I bought it new). AFAIK, no Caddy comes with engine cover.

Maybe in Africa to avoid all sand? Here we do not get them under any caddy van!

Only under a luxury life you get an undertray and the enginecover.

Haha, we have tarred roads here like any other country. VW product decisions don't always make sense. We can't get 4Motion Caddys here, even though they would make a lot more sense here than many other countries that do get them. Even though all Caddys come from the same factory, the versions manufactured for different markets are quite different (we have a 1.0L petrol version here).

Hi, I have an ex British gas caddy maxi 1.6tdi (13 plate) is the engine cover mentioned the same for this one?
I had my engine cover stolen!! It seems the bonnet catch can be accessed quite easily with a screw driver or similar :( any additional security that would fix this?

Also does anyone have a link to a video or a how to guide to fit these? I see that you have to buy grommets for them?

Question, is true that VW take off engine covers from cars because foam and other particle go away from cover and ended in belt conpartament then cause engine faulire? Thanks

I’m not convinced that’s right or even for the caddy to speak anyway. I think it was more of a budget thing on a caddy.

Ok, thanks for answers, now i have to buy some engine cover, because when open engine lid on rainy or wet day all water from lid go directly on injectors(1.6 tdi), it makes them rusty and may go bad, thanks

Edit: - And ordered, only found for seat, but behind seat logo is preserved VW badge, with ball mounting bolts.. ImageImage
