Ply lining
Hi guys back again looking for your views on suppliers of new ply kits. It’s all striped out silent coated floor walls and ceiling then 16mm dodo Thermo liner extreme. I’m looking for a good quality ply kit before I carpet. Can anyone recommend a good place to buy from. Don’t have access to search yet thanks.

Re: Ply lining
I don’t think in all my time searching that I’ve come across a company that supply a good fitting ply lining kit for a caddy. Most work from a template and they are never a really good fit.
I’ve ripped all mine out and will be going the 4 way stretch carpet route. But if I wasn’t I’d be tempted to make my own templates from cardboard and cut my own.
But there are loads on eBay if you wanna check them out.

That’s the issue with fleebay there’s a few on there but as cabbs said there’s a lot of rubbish that ain’t a very good fit. I’ll be using the van for work and play so will need the ply to protect the panels denting out.

Make your own templates. Lol.
So easy with large pieces of cardboard.
If I was better with a jigsaw on them straight runs I’d probably do my own.
My friend works for a big van lining company currently lining massive amounts of business vans and there caddy templates are the worst I’ve seen. There idea of lining a van is getting a nice clean cut finish and protecting the panels. But there’s areas the ply doesnt cover which they class as unimportant.

Re: Ply lining
I don’t need to make templates as I don’t need to ply line being a Maxi Life. Was meaning if I could make templates from a van I could make kits and sell them. But I have too many other projects on the go so I don’t think I will

Certainly money to be made out of it if the kits were a good fit but woodwork was never my best subject at school.

Re: Ply lining
Just wondered if anyone had put a ply floor in caddy maxi life. Im wanting to put a vinyl floor in as easier to clean the mud but unsure whether to strip off the cars original carpet lining and insulate underneath first or just put 12mm ply on top. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
