Just unclips mate, and you can't get a black one, nobody sells them.
Can get a badge the same size, but the radar emergency brake assist will no longer work.
The radar can only see through these badges.
The sensor is behind the badge, not in it
Iv tinted mine with tinting spray, radar sensor is unaffected, that or wrapping is the best your going to get unfortunately If you want to keep the radar functions

Yea mate, all mine ever does is annoy me to be honest but maybe one day it will help!
And yea it's held up really well, been sprayed for 3-4 months I'd say, a few tiny stone scratches on it but nothing major.
Used the Halfords rear light tinting spray.
No prep atall, takes a few coats but I'm happy with how it turned out

Just been doing my headlights so I can now see how the badge clips in - You have to release 2 tabs on the back to remove, so I think it best to unfasten (2 screws) and unclip the grill along the top front to get access.

You can get badge skins that look like the VW Logo in 2 colours of vinyl, or you can spray as said.

Updated Info ...

It is a Clip at the Top-Middle and 2 tabs on either side (ten past & ten to).
2 hook-in tabs at the bottom.

Has anybody tried fitting a normal badge to see what happens ?
This one is pretty thick, but I am guessing it is a uniform density for the sonar waves so doesn't affect them adversely.
