Replacing ARB bushes - Caddy Maxi

Post by Wafflepug4 »

I'm getting knocking from the back of my can, and there play in the bushes.

This will be the first time doing this, do I have to jack the van up, or can it be done on the ground?

Also is it the case of undoing the 2 bolts?

One more thing, someone recommend me doing the drop links while I'm there, is this necessary?

I did similar on my sprinter a couple of weeks ago. Straight forward as i just wriggled under on my back. I'd be surprised if you can get under the caddy without jacking it up unless you have rear wheels up on boards or parked on kerb. I haven't looked at my caddy ARB but assume its similar to sprinter

It should just be a case of removing the two bolts and clamp. The bush will pull/twist off. I wouldn't imagine doing the drop links is necessary unless there is play in them also. you should be able to feel it once you get underneath.

I'm sure someone in the caddy know will be along soon.

Rear ARB bushes are simple replacement, the do wear so upgrading to powerflex is ideal.
If your drop links are as old as the ARB bush, you'll be best to swap those out too.

It can be done on the floor although maybe easier if the wheels were up on some blocks to give you some working space.

Awsome, thankyou both for your help.

I'm struggling to find 22mm ARB bushes anywhere.
I've found a partnumber that was posted on the forum for a maxi, however when I look at those it says the internal diameter is 20.5, however I thought it was 22.
