Learning VCDS :D
Ran wires for the PTC heater and soldered into the CANBUS, can’t connect it yet as missing the bolt to attach to the fuse.
Fitted the battery box as I had the battery out, jus5 need to ge5 a lid for it now.
Battery reconnected and had lots of dash lights. Bulb, steering, traction.
VCDS arrived half hour later luckily. Ran scan, cleared codes, showing steering angle sensor fault.
Did a Steering Limit Stop Adaptation, all lights gone off :D

Going out to play with VCDS later to check any faults left, change indicator blink to 5 not 3, enable needle sweep , set DRL’s off when hand brake is on and unlock all doors from one press off unlock on keyfob (not found out how to do the last one yet).

Scrap yard trip tomorrow, and if nothing else, getting another bloomin fuse bolt :D

Cruise control installed and coded, air bag took longer to get off than the whole rest of the job!
Indicators now flash 5 times
Still haven’t worked out how to do a needle sweep and the trip buttons on the wiper stalk don’t work yet.

Awesome!

Double check your SWCM, midline ones will code in for cruise control but not the trip function.

I have a highline SWCM but only a lowline instrument cluster so don’t get MFD

Needle sweep

Have a look in 17, instruments then under one of the drop down options in adaptation for celebration. Should be in there somewhere

I can imagine mate. I’d be a bit worried I’d do damage with one. You never know, I may take the plunge one day.

Doing an auto scan every time just in case, making notes of what I change and triple checking here before changing :D
Sorry if everyone gets fed up with my questions :D
I’ve got some errors that were there originally that I need to sort, will be requesting help with those.
One is because it’s got a non oem stereo which is fair enough but another is to do with my dsg box which is a worry.

Making notes is not as good as getting used to using the system you've bought and learning how to go to the Ross-tech/VCDS/Debug/CodingLog.CSV for a full run down of every thing you've used it for.
It's invaluable.

There's also an adaptions log in there if you do change any adaptions.
