so has anyone successfully done this mod at all,its something im looking into and any info on the subject is very much appreciated...

I tried to swap a highline cluster but the immo5 was having none of it. Make sure you seek out a good tec who is a wiz at that sort if thing.

The instrument cluster you have there is the very latest Caddy4 type with component protection.
You'll need an official legitimate version of some instrument cluster tool for this.
VVDI, AVDI, are just two of the possibilities.

hi doc ive now got a set of 5k0920860f and 5k0920861 both 2009 clocks,any idea if these are easier to code it mate..thanks

ive got carprog here,i was able to read the 24c32 eeprom chip on a set of 5k0920870f clocks
i cant find a 24c32/64 chip on my 5k0920860f clocks,were is the info saved on these ones...

From my experience, the EEPROM, whether it's 24C32 or 24C64, is in the same location just above and left of the speedometer stepper motor.

I've not had any experience of that tool, don't know what it's capable of.

Here's a pic of the PCB ,there is no eeprom chip on that side at all,it's also not on the back side either ...
