ASZ conversion
Can anyone help me?
I have recently swapped the engine out of a Fabia VRS into a caddy SDI.. I took it to be mapped and they wont map it due to faults being stored in the Engine control unit.
I followed every single instruction to the letter, control unit, looms, crank sensor, cam sprocket etc etc
Why would I have faults stored with various sensors when it runs and drives fine, just needing the map to get its power!
If I retrace all my wiring which i checked 3 times it will set me back a week or so. I need to get it sorted pronto.
Ant help, info would be great!
Manchester area. Incase there are any local brain boxes.. cheers guys

Re: ASZ conversion
It would be good to start with establishing what the faults are, you're problem might be as simple as a blown fuse.
2013 Caddy with EA888 Gen3 2.0TSI DSG, Superplus MSP19 , Caddy4 rear lights, Polo GTI (mk7 style) steering wheel, Relentless Tuning front coilovers, Audi A6 S-Line front seats, Boxster fronts & GTI rear Brakes, 3D Colour Premium dash cluster, Caddy life arm rest, Motexion bulkhead, MIB head unit

Re: ASZ conversion
I wish it was something as simple as that.
I have
P2016 - intake manifold runner position sensor/switch current low
That confuses me as it doesn't have an intake manifold runner!
P3338 - activation flow time control module 1 electrical error
P2185 - coolant temp sensor 2 circuit high
There is only 1 coolant temp sensor on the engine!
P0113 - intake air temp sensor circuit high
The MAF/temp sensor had no issues before it was fitted to the caddy and a BLS control unit.
I dont have the wiring diagrams to hand, but I remember going through each sensor and confirming its location at the ECU end.. so I'm at a loss! Hoping the fairies will come and fix it for me!!

What's the ECU HW and SW numbers you are using?

Re: ASZ conversion
I'll have to get back to you on that one Doc. I'll be back with it at some point over the weekend!
Do these codes relate to faulty units? Or is there another reason?

Re: ASZ conversion
I'm thinking it's not actually a BLS ECU you've got on there as they done have some things mentioned in your fault codes.

Re: ASZ conversion
The part number on the unit brings up a bls control unit! I remember searching the number to make sure.

Re: ASZ conversion
Can you post the engine section of a VCDS Autoscan?

Re: ASZ conversion
I dont have the equipment unfortunately.
I only have what the tuning company showed me, which is the list of faults I have posted!
What is VCDS and how do I get it? Cheers Doc

Re: ASZ conversion
Have ordered myself a new toy! VCDS on a laptop, so I will have what you asked for soon Doc.
I've also been trying to install ElsaWin onto my home laptop, but I can't get the programme to run Elsa.
This job was supposed to be easy and take a matter of a few weekends! Turned into a right faff.
Starting to think it's not worth it.

Re: ASZ conversion
Why have you taken photos of text, it's easier to just copy and paste the Autoscan.
If you like you can email it to me and I'll post it on your behalf.

Re: ASZ conversion
I'm under strict instruction to not connect the laptop the VCDS is on to the internet, as it could update the system in the background and cause a failure of the programmes!
Apologies for this inconvenience.

Re: ASZ conversion
Just to let anyone know who might be reading this post thinking it has the answers!
It doesn't.. I've given up and contacted a VAG specialist auto electrician who's specialises in these jobs! The van is going there as I am defeated..
After lots of swearing and talking to myself, I'm done with it!
Just going to throw money at it instead!
