Re: Lucky to be alive!
Sorry to hear about this heff. Glad everyone is OK apart from the beautiful van.
If they don't do anything soon I'm sure there could be an army of caddys surrounding that guy.
Its not a funny matter cuz if he was in that situation I'm sure his tone would have been different.
Hope it gets sorted.

Wow that looks and sounds to close for comfort
Glad your ok hef.
As for compensation your probably better off seeking advice from a professional. It amazes me how people can and sometimes do get away with poor workmanship.

Might also be worth contacting ofgem and/or the ombudsman as they both deal with the Distribution Network Operators. 11kV is no laughing matter. Glad you're ok though pal

Re: Lucky to be alive!
Thanks guys, all of your advice and kind words is really appreciated! Im going to follow this up first thing in the morning as I would hate this to happen to anyone else and be hurt or worse as a result of even more incompetence! They WILL be moving their poles and cables off my land for sure and i will insist on an explanation of what went so wrong in this instance

Holy shit mate. That is scarey. Firstly I’d be calling Citizens Advice to see where you stand. That could of ended very badly mate. But glad your ok mate. I’m sure you’ll get it sorted bud. I’d defo be moving that death trap off my land too.

Re: Lucky to be alive!
Update!
Fair play to the local Scottish power customer service team. They called me at 8.30 this morning to see how I was after the ordeal on Friday. They also encouraged me to go get a quote for the damage to the van so they could sort it. However after washing the van on Saturday the scratches are more widespread and the roof, whole side bonnet and front bumper will require paint.
As @Doc says though as a positive it may be the push required to go wide boy Caddy!!Just glad however none of my family have been injured.
Legal wheels also in motion for infrastructure relocation.
Thanks again guys

Lucky to be alive!
Hi guys!
Just scrolling through old posts this morning and saw that I hadn’t updated this!
Well! Following a couple of quotes for making good the paintwork from a couple of forum member friends, Scottish power settled the rather hefty quote within days!
So, just in case God forbid this happens to anyone else ... we have acceptance of liability clearly for the van so legal advice tells me that compensation will be forthcoming also, but will take time!
All I wanted was for my van to be repaired and more so for these poles to be relocated. The van now has a stash of money set aside to cover the damage. Thankfully I can do this myself so when the time is right and as a bonus this will also cover a future wide caddy mod which i’ve been considering for some time now.
Scottish power are also dealing with a legal case by me to move the poles so i’ll keep you updated on this issue also!
Thanks again my friends

Caddy paintwork is an excellent insulator . But seriously, glad you weren't hurt.
