Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
Thanks Stainless! Great to hear from another Caddy Life Camper owner. Me too, it is the best most reliable car that I have owned, and as a 65 year old, I’ve owned a few cars. This might give you a giggle - had the car since new in 2007 and I’ve never opened the bed, the annex/tent nor the table and chairs!! I was offered the car as a dealer special, for work (I am a Building Inspector) and never had the need for the camping bit!
It’s because the car has been so very good, and still is, that I wish to keep it. I will redo the armrest upholstery on the front doors because I took to them with a steam cleaner and the glue lifted and stained it. I notice a deal on Wish for the door upholstery cut to the Caddy, and might buy it (some sort of faux leather looking stuff in various colours). It would be nice to find if anyone else has purchased it already.

Yes the dam armrest on my camper has gone bad after I cleaned it. The foam underneath the fabric has kind of melted into a orange sticky goop.
I tried to redo it on the weekend but realised the fabric needs to be moulded to fit properly.
I was just going to try and find a couple of second hand door cards.

AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
Hi everyone.
Just letting all the Aus caddsters know that I’m selling my Caddy life Camper.
Is the best car that I’ve ever owned and I’m only selling it because I bought another caddy with 4motion.

Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
Hi all, just stumbled across the aussie thread!!
Still waiting for delivery of my new van, should only be a couple of weeks.
2020 TSI220 1.4l petrol Pure Grey SWB with lots of extras. (not new new shape though, definitely not a fan of the new front end!!)
Has cost a pretty penny but will be worth it.
Will post some pics and start a build thread once its arrives!

Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
Another Melbourne member here.
Owned VWs for a while now, so I recognise a few faces/ build threads from vans I've seen at various shows.
Owned my caddy for just over a week.
"Build" thread and video links below.

Hope to see more clean caddy's around locally. Here they definitely don't have the cult following they seem to have in the UK.

Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
What are you swapping? Replacing a cooked engine or going for a different type of engine?

Re: AUSTRALIAN MEMBERS THREAD
Just a heads up:
Depends what you're swapping as to how much of the donar-car you need, keep in mind it might be cheaper to buy a smashed car for the various parts instead of just an engine from a wreakers.
Realistically if you want it done properly it's going to cost proper coin. If you want cheap there's a million shops who will "have a go", it'll just result in a less than smooth process.
That's just my experience/ recommendation. If you're serious about have it done to an OE level give Volkwerke in Doncaster a call.
They're not cheap but they'd have the most expertise on the topic
