Best mod Arm rest

Worst is alloy valve caps (previous owner). Had to replace the valves on 2 wheels because they were corroded on!

If you have alloy valve caps just apply a smear of vaseline inside each cap and each time you clean the the van just unscrew each cap a couple of turns and then re tighten. Simple fix!
Now remapped to 145 BHP

Not sure I would trust it again to be honest. Better left on Halfords shelves!

Best mod is cruise control. Nice to plod along on long journeys plus it lets me rest my right knee which tends to ache after about an hour of driving.

Worst mod is tailgate spoiler. I still may replace it for a better quality one as it doesn't quite sit flat at one end.

Best mod, side rail cover. Simple, but completely finishes the van off.
Worst mod, universal seat covers that fit like a glove on a foot

Best mod: OEM Bi-Xenon headlight upgrade - so much more light, and they follow curves in the road.
Worst mod: OEM mudflaps - didn't fit rear bumper properly, ugly, ineffective.

A good mod is the acrylic bulkhead covers , stops you hearing the noise in the back , improves air con and heater efficiency, also did mk5 hit leather seats and flat bottom steering wheel, makes it feeel like a car :)

I think my best mod was lowering it on coil overs. Makes it sit just right and look so much better.

Worst would be getting nice Touran carpets, followed by carpet mats to protect them, followed by rubber mats to protect them
🤣🤣🤣
(But carpet in the front is lovely and makes it more car-like) 👍

Best mod & worst mod...?

Post by Caddyluv »

Out of all my many many many mods I think my best one is my monexon bulk head. It make the cab so quite and more luxurious and I can still see though my rear window. Or my seats. But the best thing is the 90% or more I’ve done myself.

Worst mod are all the bits I’ve already taken off

Best, carpeting the ply lining, gave a much greater noise reduction than the deadening and insulation.

Worst, 12" fli underground sub. Sounds alright, but takes up way too much room, should have gone for an under seat.

Best mod & worst mod...?

The best mod I’ve done was fitting my head unit and reverse camera. It was something completely new to me and gave me confidence. (I had a lot of help from forum members I have to add)

The worst mod was leaving my handbrake off one day and ‘remodelling’ the back end.

The best mod for me has to be, I painted all the cream trims satin black and dyed the headlining black too, makes it feel more car like

Worst nod which wasn't done by me is MK4 gti seats which will be going soon as I have Audi S3 seats ready to go in, in the next week or soo

Worst Mod - I bought one of those aero wipers off ebay. In fact I bought 2 and both snapped. Absolute crap.

Best Mod - getting the seat conversion done, by a country mile. Being able to use the van with the family is great.
