Yeah, it is... It sounded convincing when I typed it though...

Let the build begin

Post by C Chis »

3D cluster arrived this morning, all coded including celebration needle sweep,

Had to cut off the outer casing on the wiring adapter loom to get it to sit in the dashboard correctly, easy enough done though.

Image

This arrived just at the right time... day 3 of fitting new coil overs... impact wrench won’t even look at the passenger side drive shaft bolt, grrrr Image waiting on industrial one being delivered tomorrow!

The whole front suspension has been a nightmare, rusty/seized bolt central! Going to end up with new bearings, hub carriers, ball joints, track rod ends, drop links, wishbones and I’ve still got a snapped bolt to remove from the subframe, however, tomorrow is another day...

Cluster is looking good!

Did you re-calibrate the milage?

Wondering if I can do needle sweep on mine :o Need to plug VCDS back in and have a play later on I think!

Usually the way it goes with shit like that... I lowered my old Touran... 7.5 hours to do the fronts because of fecked top mount bolts... The rears... took 30 minutes in total :D

Hi and cheers for the comments

No, haven’t recalibrated the mileage, do you mean the fuel consumption?

Van’s on axle stands at the moment, should be back on the road this weekend or middle of the week!

Waiting on replacement parts arriving, opted to buy everything for the front and send back what I don’t use!

I’m spending a few hours a day in the front end, frustration and waiting on the penetrating oil working is meaning slow progress

I meant does the milage match the milage from the old clocks? :)

Or is it not stored in the cluster anymore?

Seems my cluster doesn't do needle sweep :( Does on my Scirocco but that's a slightly different cluster!

Possibly!
But it's right at the bottom of my list right now.

I have cruise and the MFD working off the trip buttons on the stalk now which will do. Will bear him in mind though.
