Re: A Good Caddy
Hey FishermansFriend,
That;'s a lovely looking wheel! Just a quick question RE those pedals (not sure if it's mentioned previously in the thread). Did you fit them? If so, do you have any links etc?

Re: A Good Caddy
Hi Tafllana1,
Yes I fitted them myself and if I can do it you can to, trust me. Its pretty straight forward. There is a detailed tread in the "How To" section of the forum which is very helpful, not sure if you have the access yet but? I bought the pedel set on ebay from a seller called vw-audi-teile-spezi. The listing is "VW Golf 5 6 original GTI pedal pads caps RHD right hand drive covers R32 pedals". Let me know if you need anymore info.

Ideal - Found them!! Thanks for that,
Was the accelerator easy to swap out? Looks straight forward, bolt out and then bolt the new one in?

Re: A Good Caddy
Good, glad you found them. After you take out the bolt there are two retaining clips that need released, push the carpet down so you can get a good view of the clips and you will be able to see what way the clips need to be pushed, use a small screw driver for this, the two clips are at the foot of the base. Once the clips are released the base will come off.
The GTI base wont fit on to the Caddy as the retaining clips dont match, you will need to take the actual accelerator pedal off the GTI base and put it on the Caddy base, then reinstall the Caddy base with the new GTI accelerator pedal. Use a screw driver to gently force the clip on the Caddy accelerator pedal over the clip on the Caddy base, once this is done the accelerator pedal will slide off. Repeat the process with the GTI pedal and base and install the GTI pedel on the Caddy base.

Hi Dons101,
Thank you. Yes I am fishing mad, out every week. Since I got the van my catch rate has drastically decreased, haven't landed a fish since June. When I am out on the bank I really enjoy reading the great build treads on here and it affecting my fishing

I gave the rubber window seals, trim and mirrors a rub over with touch of Solution Finish after seeing it recommended on here, really took them up nice.

Re: A Good Caddy
To R, or not to R, that is the question. I finally installed the gloss black R emblem I had in my to do box today. It came mounted on a L-Bracket with a small hole, so I drilled a hole in the grill and screwed it on with a nut and bolt, it also had some 3M tape on the bottom so its nice and secure. I have a black gloss R for the rear I will install later when I remove the gloss black Caddy wording.
