Any touran door card tutorials?

Post by JamesTyrrell »

Any tutorials on how to fit the touran door cards? Will I need new electric window switch connectors?

Gonna attempt it tomorrow

I could do with some guidance aswell  attempted mine last weekend but looks like I'll have to trim some of the new door card down abit. Is this true or am I just being an idiot? Haha

I managed it to be fair mate wasn't that bad! Of all the things that people say is easy this one actually isn't that bad Image

You have to cut away the part that goes around the black trim near the inside of the door mirror, but you can line it up next to the caddy door card and mirror it, do it bit by bit and file it down after! I over cut one by about 5mm so there's a bit of a gap next to that black trim but it doesn't bother me really.

Plug it all in and make sure the switches work first, for some reason the switches didn't work on the touran looms so I swapped the looms from the caddy door cards and it worked fine.

The only thing I had to adjust was the wire on the driver door for the little red security light didn't reach, so cut the one off the touran loom and spliced it to make the wire longer!

Once you've done this it just fits exactly the same as the caddy door cards, however my driver door only had one bolt hole as it's a different style handle but one is enough really.

You'll be fine mate!

I hate the window switch position on my caddy, this looks to be a great remedy.

The electric switches i have feel nasty and cheap, maybe this would be an easy fix,

do you have any pictures or the caddy and touran door card side by side?

For the people who have done this, what have you done regarding the non-matching trim from door card to dash. That would bug me and set my ocd off big time

Would it not be possible to swap them?

I don't think it is. As far as I can see, the ones in the caddy dash are moulded in.
