So I recently bought this caddy with 219,000 miles on it but the engine sounds like a bag of spanner’s and the gear box is like storing porridge. I am currently giving the van a birthday so I’ll post more photos of what’s happened so far and what is happening next.

The wings were starting to rust and the roof and bonnet both had lacquer peel so I gave it a nose job.

Next was to set about the interior , I got hold of mk5 r32 seats in cloth and bought a Touran to do the rear seat conversion as I have 4 kids so we can all go out and leave mum at home. I also replaced the rubber floor with carpets front and rear along with Touran dark plastic panels and arm rest. Image

Having twin sliding doors makes it easier to get kids in.

The back is now carpeted out and still plenty of room for carrying stuff about.

nice van. What a transformation with the wrap.

How do you find the wrap? does the wrap go into all areas you can see like inside door checks. Always fancied getting this done but i dont know if seeing the original colour would do my head in like you see on some jobs.

I scotched the inside of all the door shuts first then sprayed them satin black. You can see a bit of red near the rear window but I’m going to get an insert trim to go in the gap . It’s also very cheap compared to paint these days.

What a build!
The rubber flooring to carpet, was this just the rear or the front too?

Also did your 2016 lights straight fit?

Wouldnt mind doing the same, looks great

I done front and rear carpet so also have the floor storage pockets and used original carpet from under the seats.
The lights are a direct fit but you need to buy the ones for the barn door model. Then it’s just a case of re pinning the plug to work the correct lights.Image
