Audison speakers
Hi all
I’m thinking about fitting some Audison door speakers and tweeters on my Mk4 caddy, can anyone tell me if they are any good, I’m going to be using the factory fit head unit?
Cheers

Re: Audison speakers
Anything aftermarket will be better then factory crap. Audison are very good as are any speakers when your spending upwards of 150/200 quid. Problem is factory headunit will be so underpowered for a speaker like that unless they do a 35 rms ish speaker anything 75 rms upwards really needs a amp. Alpine do lower powered speakers g range or e range from memory they might be better suited.

Re: Audison speakers
I’ve fit some Audison APK’s in my doors/ dash and they sound absolutely brilliant (powered by RCD510). I previously had some Pioneer’s fit and the sound quality was easily noticeable after the change, so going from stock speakers the quality difference will be huge.

Re: Audison speakers
Ok thanks for the advice
I'm planning on replacing the speakers first, then later a head unit upgrade. I'll post some pictures once I have done

Re: Audison speakers
I’ve just upgraded the sound system in mine. Fitted Audison wideband and door speakers along with a processor and sub. That way I could keep the original head unit with incredible sound. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Re: Audison speakers
@philanks, which audison door speakers did you fit and you need to make / buy spacers.

Re: Audison speakers
Bobededog... the door speakers are Audison Prima 6.5 2ohms.
I had it all professionally installed and the chap made ply baffles to stop moisture getting into them. Spacers are not usually strong enough.
Awesome kit!

Serious install there Phil.
He's definitely gone the extra mile.
Maybe I should rethink my diy ideas.

Re: Audison speakers
Have a look at his Facebook site. He’s called Nick at Cornwall in-car audio visual. Very helpful even if you just wanted some advice. He knows his stuff! My Caddy install is on his FB page actually.

Re: Audison speakers
Yes mate. Wanted to keep the OEM look especially after just getting Apple CarPlay installed on it. The head unit on its own wouldn’t have been the best, the processor & sub has transformed the sound!
