Service history

I just picked up a 2017 caddy and there’s no sign of it’s service history in the pack with the owners manual. Am I right in thinking it’s all on the computers at VW these days? Sorry for the ignorant question, first time I’ve owned something newer than 1999!

Yes, it's logged on VW database these days. No more stamped service books and it's been like that for quite a few years now.

I'm the same just picked up a 2017 and don't no if its got a full service history or not. I guess its just a case of contacting your local VW garage to check it

What year did Vw start doing it online for the caddy then?

My 2014 has a service book that is stamped at each annual service.

My caddy 4 2015 1.6 has a service book also my 2017 2ltr bmt had a service book as well . I always use a specialist as well as Knowledge service etc better than dealer

Thanks guys. Maybe it’s a lease van thing where they don’t bother with stamped books?

VW have introduced something called digital service schedule in 2016, they have a centralised system where they keep service records, you may beable to get a PDF copy from them. I dont know if this is only for the car range though ?
