Touran dash and electric window conversion.

Post by LewisOram11 »

Hi guys just bought a Touran dash and the electric window conversion for my caddy 2008. Does anyone have any advice on fitting them and what i might occur while doing it.

Cheers.

As Sean has said, take your time and enjoy it!

Isolate your battery and remove your steering wheel before you start.

And if it doesn’t pull away from the window easily then you’ve still got a screw/bolt or two still to remove.

Oh, and remember to disconnect the temperature sensor on the RHS next to the A pillar.

Also a good idea to run the additional power wire to each of the A pillar door connectors while you have the dash out and use the Touran wiring harnesses when your converting your windows to electric.

You’ll also need to modify the top corner of the door cards where they meet the mirror cover as they are slightly different on the Touran

Awesome thanks for the help. Luckily the van isn’t on the road at the moment so time is on my side and I’ll be taking it slow. And also now thanks to yous I’ve got some more information about the conversion than I knew before.

Is there a diagram any where to show where the additional power wire runs from and where it goes to?

Hi buddy, yeah, there’s a good how to in the technical section.

Once your upgrade comes through in a few days you’ll have access to it

I made a template with masking tape off the original door cards for the cutting. Only problem I have now is with the locking module wiring. I probably need different motors / modules. Image

I’ve seen that a small section needs to be cut out for the inside mirror part. The main thing is the extra wiring needed for it to work.

For me there is because the central locking does not work because the electric motor and locking module is one part. So I'm not sure on what I got to do at the moment. Plus the motors I have are from a 07 touran my van is a 12. So depends on what motors you get as well
