Build SDI to TDI
HI all,
i am sure there has been a lot of people doing this build so this build wont come to anything out of the ordinary.
I do like to try and do everything my self to keep the cost down.
so here it is a 2010 caddy SDI , i bought for £500 due to the engine knocking , ( upon inspection it has ZERO oil in the engine )
I have some parts for the engine conversion from other projects iv had previously i will upload some pictures shortly.

Re: Build SDI to TDI
Hello and wellcome! I see you already have big plans for the van, from an SDI to a PD150 ( also with mods from what I see) I think it's gonna be quite a difference. For sure I will keep an eye on your build. What other upgrades do you have for the engine?
Good luck with the build

Re: Build SDI to TDI
hi There,
thanks i hope i will not disappoint iv built a good hand full off 300+bhp PD engines , from ground up , with this caddy i wont be going for big power at all really , everything i build is on a tight budget with everything being done my self saving a lot of money in labor.
I am thinking to run a fairly small turbo gt1856 maybe with a ball bearing conversion , but lets see what comes up i will upload everything here and post as many pictures as i can.
all the best mate and stay safe

hi followers
it’s been a few days
the head is built up now , and iv started to cut the hole in the block for the crank sensor i hope to soon have full access so i can find a better guide on how to fit touran wing mirrors as i have a set the engine should be all together this week
i am yet to collect mk5 gti seats and steering wheel
and also waiting for a delivery of side door rail covers
new wheels
and new turbo
i will add pictures of the parts once i get them

Looking good mate! You don’t see too many SWB ex gas vans.
Have you got the engine back in yet?
