YouTube Build Series
What is happening guy’s! I have a YouTube channel and have just bought a 2011 SWB 1.6tdi Caddy as a new project. Also bought a 2010 VW Touran 1.6 Petrol to strip for parts.
Here is a link to the channel:
https://youtube.com/c/DanChambersDAC
Anyway, The plan is to take the interior out of the Caddy to fit into the Caddy. All the usual parts including rear seats and electric windows. Going to attempt to build a Golf GTI Mk7.5 front bumper, Touran wing mirrors, Coilovers, Wheels and a full colour change respray.
Hopefully should be a decent series. Here are a few photos of the van & Touran. I will update on here too.
The van, bought out of Copart. It does have a little damage.
Touran was also from Copart, Although it is unrecorded. Bodywork is not in the best condition.
Will keep you all updated as I get on with it!

Re: YouTube Build Series
Been ages since I posted on here! Trying to do the work, film and edit take up so much time! Right first job tk sort was the door not closing properly.
Turns out the A pillar was dented
A quick look around the farm workshop and I found something to help with pulling it out!
Bracket welded to a post in the workshop and another bolted to the A pillar, it pulled right out!
The door sat much better although the hinge was damaged and door was dented. I replaced the hinge with the one from the Donor Touran and bought a new door!

Re: YouTube Build Series
Next up was sorting the bent suspension/steering components. Driveshaft, track rod and lower arm were all bent. I haven’t got many photo’s as I am filming it all.
New door and wing fitted along with Lower arm, driveshaft and track rod. Ready to start the mods

Re: YouTube Build Series
After stripping the donor Touran the first mod to the Caddy was the rear seat conversion.
Again I don’t have many photo’s as I filmed it all.
Turned out well and much easier than thought!

Next thing was the dash conversion.
Nowhere near as difficult as expected. Just make sure you change all of the vents before you fit it!

Re: YouTube Build Series
Next up was the custom Golf Mk7.5 GTI/ Caddy Hybrid bumper.
Massive thank you to Hef on here for all of the help and advice on this one.
I opted for Hef’s method of cut and bond instead of plastic welding/staples. I also moved the towing eye too but can’t find a photo.
First layer of SMC carbon fibre filler
First sand and more filler!
First layer of Dolphin glaze filler
Sanded ready for primer
Primed and looking sweet!
