Re: Toffee delights
More great work there again lad. You have an eye for detail. I prefer it without the TSI R badge personally but obviously your choice.

Re: Toffee delights
@ lister Very talented tidy job . The wheel center cap you use was it the clip size that was 55mm ? What was the outside cap size ? I’m needing new ones to fit my 19s as noticed the edge had a split in it . I need it to be 65/67mm ish outside still to check the inside size.

Re: Toffee delights
Looks smart that List.
Initially I thought with badges looked better. As when I scrolled down my first thought was something was missing from the space on the right (on the one without badges). However scrolling up and down between the two...... I've no idea which looks better now as I keep switching thoughts on it
Pleased I could help

Toffee delights
Rad pack built up and installed, carbon heat protection added to the lambda probes and gear linkage hooked up. Test fitted the APR intake to see what modifications will be needed to it, one bracket change and a slot needs cut in the carbon to clear the top radiator hose; I won’t lie I’m not looking forward to taking the dremal to it .
Ended up sticking the badges onto the engine cover.

Re: Toffee delights
As I said previously, you are doing an incredible job and its fascinating watching it on here. My vote is for both engine cover badges as it has a whiff of Golf R400 concept about it.
When cutting the carbon, you'll find it cuts really easily with a dremel (if you're feeling really fancy permagrit make a dremel cutoff wheel specifically for carbon but virtually all the discs cut it well. I think I have a diamond disc that I've had the best results with but its been a while since I cut any so struggling to remember) and you probably already know this but the dust is awful stuff not just for you but for electrical connections so make sure you've got a vacuum going when you do it! I've got a few Permagrit Files that are also very useful for finishing off edges and watch out for carbon splinters, they are incredibly painful as they're very fine and difficult to get out!

danbiali cheers mate and thanks for the advice with the carbon.
Azz03 thanks. No there’s still a few bits to do, mainly on the fuel side of things. I have done at least 12 hours everyday for the last 3 weeks so haven’t don’t it that quick .

Re: Toffee delights
Great progress again Chris, this is gonna be one hell of a caddy once your finished.
Is there any way another coolant hose coupling could be used to save you cutting up the intake cowling?

Re: Toffee delights
Chris I’ve run out of superlatives for this build.
If I were at work I’d say it looks like it grew there
Eve says the battery box and fuse box need carbon dipping

Re: Toffee delights
Doc I’ve been looking for a different coupling but can’t see any as it’s the small hose that’s causing the issue. I’ll probably keep looking for a few days before I break the dremal out.
Beaker2135 ha ha I’ve actually been looking at Carbon ones, I’ll have to start saving for them I think.
