Read this before ever changing clocks.

Post by deluxedetailnz »

Ok so I've made a mistake so people don't have to learn the hard way.

Before you remove your clocks makesure you scan and save the longcode from your abs module.

Long story short I read anything I could find and no one mentioned it.

Dosnt seem like it's common at all but it can happen.

Replaced my clocks and the abs module has forgotten its long code which is a nightmare to retrieve from my understanding.

Will keep this updated once I find the way to get it sorted, in the meantime, scan and save Image

For the anyone who thinks I'm a Dumbass or its obvious I'm sorry but I had no idea . Live and learn I guess Image

Fairly certain this can be rectified using ODIS

Does that mean, you have never ever saved an autoscan? If you was using VCDS it should have been saved automatically in a scans folder ;)

It's not that difficult to calculate the ABS coding. Just need the right label file for VCDS.

It is VERY common. The VCDS forum is full of requests to calculate codings. Your guy has requested in there too.

Conversions make it very tricky!!!!!!

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS Auto-scan BEFORE starting any work.

It can easily be rectified.... unless you have an R36 engine in your Caddy TSI... right deluxedetailnz??? :( :( :(
