Hi @Russ74, I just seen that you have a silver diffuser on the rear bumper. Nice touch that I didn't notice before. How did you do that mod?

Hi

Yeah, a South African Caddy Thread! I have a 2019 Caddy MK4 Crew Bus and would like help with following:
1) Have anyone added the rearview camera to the barn door?
2) The headlights are not the greatest, what is the best, non Xenon, bulb upgrade recommendations?

Thank you

6 speed conversion done today. Man I must say it’s a well worth it mod.
I needed the 6 speed Box from a Jetta/Golf BKD.
BKD Starter.
The mounting that bolts on the box for the cables. The linkages. BKD dual mass flywheel and clutch.
Golf 5 side shafts.Left and Right.
Also the pipe for the slave cylinder.
Took about 6 hrs to fit start to finish providing you have all the parts.

Are the gear ratios closer together on the 6 speed giving you quicker acceleration through the gears or where you looking for that overdrive 6th gear ?

The ratios are a bit closer but the 6th has dropped considerably about 300-500rpms

Wow, impressive. Did you use 2nd hand or new parts? I had a warranty replaced (5 speed) gearbox recently, and wanted the agent to swap it to 6 speed instead of replacing 5 speed. They were having none of it though. Extended warranty cost me R500/month, the replacement gearbox and clutch (replaced separately, both under warranty) were about R140K!

At some point I may try a (4x4) synchro upgrade. It's gonna be eye-wateringly expensive. Might try shipping 2nd hand parts from Europe if I can't find a way to do it from parts that are available 2nd hand here. I do a lot of "Cross" in the Cross, but so far the clearance has been more of an issue than lack of 4x4 (AT tyres do help).

What headlight upgrades (Halogen bulbs) will you recommend that are locally available?

I have seen two recommended:
Osram night breaker laser or Philips? Any others

Secondly, does the Caddy use H4 or H7 for normal headlights?

Hi Your caddy should take H7s
Both of the brands Phillips or Osram is good.
Midas Autozone should stock them.
