Re: Let the build begin
Today’s wee upgrade was to swap over the window controls from 4 button to 2 button after a little prep and hydrodipping
Salvaged Touran door handle rubbed down, primed and sprayed gloss black
Hydrodipping attempt #1… missed a bit and tried to double dip a small patch, fail! When dipping, the underside of the film has a clear soluble film layer, this stops any subsequent dip from joining, unless removed and even then it’ll look pretty pants!
And finally, dip #3 (#2 had a bubble in in the film that I missed)
Armed with a couple of wiring schematics, pin tool and some tape, out with the old.
Repinning instead of cut, solder and heat shrink
Plug repinned and tested
Tada! In and working!
Sometimes it’s the small, unlikely to be noticed changes that give the most satisfaction

Re: Let the build begin
Cheers guys!
Just kinda treading water waiting to acquire a nice 3.2 V6 donor car… then air suspension, then a respray, then… start again
Darylg21 no, I’ve done a few other small parts on the van, however it was 12 months ago.

And a wee update to the to do list...
1. Dukes of Hazard air horns (so ‘70’s)
2. TV/DVD/multimedia unit for the back
3. Interior unlocking button for the side door - diodes here, to be fitted
4. Engine/gearbox upgrade, power, more power... now a live project, on the search for a nice engine or a full donor car
6. TPMS
8. Climatronic upgrade (parts here, to install along with engine upgrade)
9. Heated seats - Touran leather ones fitted, wiring to do at same time as Climatronic upgrade.
10. Respray
