Little update on interior, made some inserts in tongue & groove to match the roof. Held on with heavy duty Velcro, so far so good. Really would like to get lights wired in next week. It’s just finding the time.

Cheers Jim! I’m working on some foam inserts for the bulkhead delete and got some final trim to fit on the ceiling which will also act as a channel for the led cob lighting. Will get some better photos when it’s all done.

Man just spent 45 minutes reading this thread for start to finish. Absolutely incredible work!

Just got myself an 11 plate caddy. Was initially planned for house Reno but after seeing this I may have to make some plans 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Ollie’s Candy White

@Vertex92 I really appreciate your kind words man! By no means is this build as good as many of the other outstanding forum members, but I’m quite pleased with how it’s evolving, all be it at a pretty slow pace. I’d really like to get the interior finished this year. I’ve got a few bits to tidy up in the rear, cab divider to make and Touran door cards to trim in the front, plus some other extras to tie it all together. So much still to do on the outside and I’d love to do an engine swap in the future. But I guess it’s not a race, and I have no intention of selling up

Good luck with the build! Look at other build threads at your own risk (of funds being depleted )

Love this build, I've just bought a maxi and starting a build this weekend. If I can get some of it looking half as good as this I'd be chuffed. Love the wheels too

Finally started work on the Touran door cards. I’ve gone for Genuine Porsche Pepita. Got a bit of a wiggle in the pattern but I guess I’ll just have to live with that. Perhaps I will have to try and match up up the other to have an identical wiggle Image overall though, something a bit different and I’m quite pleased. Will get a matching gear gaiter made up, and eventually some different seats and get the bolsters recovered. It will be like driving around in a 70’s suit jacket

@M13CYY yes it’s a nice finish. Providing you do all the right prep and spray even coats you’ll get a fairly oem finish

Had some spare time today so trimmed the top of the door in charcoal alcantara. I am debating whether I should do the main body of the door to now I’ve come this far.. I don’t think it will look right if I don’t. AnywY progress so far

Looking good. I’d personally trim it all, only issue is it grows arms and legs .
